چکیده

Background Several studies have shown the potential of semi-quantitative and fully-quantitative analysis of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) perfusion images in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease (CAD). However, estimates of myocardial blood flow (MBF) rely on accurate selection of important timing parameters. In this study, we evaluate how the identification of the timing of the Start of Myocardial Enhancement (SME) affects MBF quantification. We hypothesize that incorrectly selecting the SME can adversely affect quantification of the MBF.

Imaging sequences for first pass perfusion --a review.

Myocardial perfusion imaging sequences and analysis techniques continue to improve. We review the state-of-the-art in cardiovascular magnetic resonance first pass perfusion pulse sequences including the application of parallel imaging. There are a wide range of sequence designs and parameters to consider when optimizing an acquisition protocol. The interdependence of these parameters forces the...

3 Tesla MR imaging provides improved contrast in first-pass myocardial perfusion imaging over a range of gadolinium doses.

PURPOSE To compare myocardial enhancement during first-pass myocardial perfusion imaging at 3.0 Tesla (T) and 1.5T. MATERIALS AND METHODS First-pass myocardial perfusion imaging was performed on twelve normal subjects at 3T and 1.5T using an interleaved notched saturation recovery gradient echo pulse sequence. Subjects received either 0.10 mmol/kg for both scans (group 1), 0.075 mmol/kg for b...

Analysis of spatiotemporal fidelity in quantitative 3D first-pass perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance

BACKGROUND Whole-heart first-pass perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) relies on highly accelerated image acquisition. The influence of undersampling on myocardial blood flow (MBF) quantification has not been systematically investigated yet. In the present work, the effect of spatiotemporal scan acceleration on image reconstruction accuracy and MBF error was studied using a numeric...

Characterization of microvascular dysfunction after acute myocardial infarction by cardiovascular magnetic resonance first-pass perfusion and late gadolinium enhancement imaging.

PURPOSE While both first-pass perfusion and late gadolinium enhancement by cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) can assess coronary microvascular status in acute myocardial infarction (AMI), there are only limited data on their respective diagnostic utility. We aim to evaluate: the utility of first-pass perfusion and late gadolinium enhancement imaging in the detection and quantification of ...
